Hi, My name is Liz Pohlmann and I am the Founder of Liselle Mineral Makeup, an all new range of natural mineral makeup that is Australian made and owned.
I'm a young woman and mother who knows first-hand how a little makeup goes a long way to boosting your mood and confidence. Like many women I love how a little makeup can transform your look but for years I struggled to find natural makeup that would provide coverage without the chemicals or the cakeiness.
In my mid-twenties I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Scleroderma which turned my skin into a mess of broken capillaries, hyperpigmentation and blemishes. I even resorted to hours of laser therapy to get rid of the broken capillaries. I was warned by the doctor that they could return due to the nature of Scleroderma. And return they did! Even worse than before. It became evident I needed to use makeup to cover them.
Getting Scleroderma was bad enough, but when I was told by a specialist that I could also have overlap Lupus, that was the last straw. I decided not to let this beat me and instead do something positive for myself and others struggling with their skin. I started working with makeup formulators and chemists to help me develop a foundation that would provide coverage without the chemicals or the cakeiness.
The result is an exclusive, all natural mineral foundation formula with a certified SPF rating of 25. The unique formula is unlike anything currently on the Australian market and the natural ingredients have been chosen for their soothing, healing, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Our all natural, vegan and cruelty free range will also include other makeup products with gorgeous eyeshadows, luscious lip glosses and more in development. We want to make sure we are catering to our customers so we'll be asking them what they want to see added to our range next!
As the mother of a young teenage girl, I wanted the emphasis to be on natural beauty and natural makeup. No nasty stuff like talc, parabens, perfumes, mineral oils, cheap fillers – anything synthetic. No animal products like lanolin or beeswax.

Despite popular belief, mineral makeup is not a new concept. The use of crushed minerals as a form of makeup dates back to ancient Eygptian times. One of the reasons behind the growing popularity of mineral makeup is that consumers are becoming much more health conscious and aware of the various irritating ingredients contained in many cosmetic, skin care and hair products.

The Founder, Liz Pohlmann
Liz is a dynamic young woman who is dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of others. Liz's background is one of inspiration. At the age of 16 and while in year 12, Liz became a mum. Despite the negativity of others around her, Liz was determined to succeed in life and she continued with her schooling, graduating from year 12 with a high OP score.
Liz initiated various youth health projects while finishing year 12 and went on to develop a successful career in the health, youth work and community development sectors. She also volunteered her time to various community initiatives and served as a Youth Councillor on the Townsville Youth Council.
When Liz's daughter was 2, she married her high school sweetheart and a month later, on Boxing Day, their daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It was huge learning curve for the two young parents that only kept bringing on challenges when their daughter later developed Coeliac Disease. Liz and her husband quickly adjusted and welcomed a baby boy, who so far has not developed either disease.
Liz was recognised for her work in the community with a Youth Up Front Award when she was 20 and with a Young Australian of The Year Award for Community Service at age 21. She became Queensland Youth Premier for a year as part of the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament where she was also elected by her peers as the Youth Minister for Health. She later volunteered as a mentor to other youth participants for a few years which helped young people from disadvantaged backgrounds participate when they otherwise might not have had the opportunity. She was later selected to become a member of the Australian Government National Youth Roundtable.

Having achieved so much at such an early age, Liz decided it was time to devote her energies to raising her young family. It was through Liz's struggles with her health conditions and Liz's passion for making a difference in the lives of others that Liselle Mineral Makeup was born.
