Protect your skin from the sun

With our beautiful country often referred to as the skin cancer capital of the world, our number 1 tip for gorgeous skin is to make sure you look after the delicate skin on your face and neck and protect it from the suns harsh rays. We went to great lengths to achieve the highest SPF rating possible without a chemical sunscreen for our Loose Mineral Powder Concealer & Foundation all-in-one. The certified SPF rating of 25 means that this product provides a high level of protection from harmful and ageing UVA & UVB rays. Its primary purpose however is as a foundation and not a primary sunscreen so it's important to apply sunscreen to your face and body every day underneath your makeup and to also wear a hat. Liselle SPF25 Loose Mineral Powder Concealer & Foundation all-in-one helps give you added sun protection to help shield your delicate skin from the sun! And, because it is difficult to apply sunscreen to the delicate areas around the eyes and eyelids, Liselle SPF25 Loose Mineral Powder Concealer & Foundation all-in-one gives ideal protection in these areas.

Adopt a skin care routine

The secret to achieving gorgeous looking skin and ensuring flawless makeup application, is to adopt a daily skin care routine. You will struggle to get great results from even the highest quality makeup if you neglect the skin on your face and decolletage. At a bare minimum you need to cleanse your skin daily to ensure that the pores are not clogged with dirt, dead skin cells and makeup products, and then moisturise morning and evening. It's a good idea to get advice from a professional beauty therapist or dermatologist about which products are best suited to your skin.

How to Apply Liselle SPF25 Loose Mineral Powder Concealer & Foundation all-in-one

Applying mineral makeup may be very different to what you are used to if you have never worn minerals before but if you follow these steps you'll find it's so much easier to apply than traditional makeup:

For a Flawless Finish:

  • Ensure your face has been cleansed.

  • Apply moisturiser and wait a few moments to allow absorption.

  • Tip a little of the powder into the lid of the jar.

  • Swirl your kabuki brush gently in the powder to coat the bristles evenly.

  • Tap any excess back into the lid.

  • Apply using a downward swirling motion, finishing with light downward strokes.

  • Always apply in thin layers, starting with a light coat and increasing layers to achieve the desired coverage.

Tips:

  • To use as a concealer, dot a small amount of powder directly onto your skin with your fingertip and blend, blend, blend.

  • Always apply in thin layers and use the brush softly on your skin to apply the powder. You can easily ‘build’ layers to achieve more coverage.

  • Use our supersoft vegan kabuki brush that has been specifically designed to provide even coverage. Great for sensitive skin as harsh bristles can create an itchy feeling on your skin.

  • Avoid blotchiness by ensuring your moisturiser has been absorbed before applying Liselle SPF25 Loose Mineral Powder Concealer & Foundation all-in-one. (Blot excess moisturiser using a tissue.)

  • Apply less to the areas on your face that have fine lines as natural skin oils tend to encourage foundation to migrate to these areas. All foundations, even traditional forms, have a tendency to migrate to these areas over the course of a day so if it does, it’s easy to use your fingertip to gently blend again.

  • For Dry Skin: Use a richer moisturiser. Spritz with pure water to set (use a spray bottle with a fine mist nozzle). Be careful not to apply too much powder. You can also mix a little powder with your moisturiser to create a tinted moisturiser – for best results; just mix enough for one application.

  • If you have a ‘tight’ feeling: Spritz your skin with water (use a spray bottle with a fine mist nozzle) for added moisture. A tight feeling around the nose or tickly sensation on the skin can also be due to technique. To avoid this, just apply using softer, lighter strokes with your kabuki brush. Remember to build layers gently to achieve the desired coverage. Go softly on your skin and use a soft kabuki brush.

  • Lines or Pores appear Large: This is to do with skin elasticity and low moisture. Moisturise skin prior to application. You can use your fingertip to gently blend after you have applied the powder if you are still concerned.

  • If you have never used mineral makeup before then you are in for a pleasant surprise with the beautiful results you will achieve while feeling as though you are not wearing makeup at all. If you have used other brands then you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the luxurious blend and superior coverage of the Liselle Mineral Makeup brand.

Caring for your supersoft professional kabuki brush

Your kabuki brush will need a clean every so often so that the makeup doesn't build up and to prevent bacteria from growing in the bristles. The best way to do this is to wash the bristles in a small bowl with warm water and a little mild baby shampoo. Do not put the entire brush into the water, only wet the bristles. Be very careful not to wet the ferrule (the metal holding the bristles together) or the bristles will loosen and your brush may come apart. Swirl the bristles gently into the bowl for 1-2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly by emptying the bowl and replacing the shampoo water with clean, warm water that does not contain any shampoo. Swirl the bristles in the clean water and empty the bowl and repeat again with clean water if necessary. Once the bristles have been thoroughly rinsed, gently squeeze out any excess water - keep the bristles pointing downwards so the excess water doesn't enter the ferrule. Then lay your kabuki on it's side on a sheet of clean, dry paper towel to prevent getting moisture into the ferrule. You can use a rubber band looped once around the bristles to help the brush keep its shape. When the bristles are dry, remove the rubber band and store your brush in a clean, dry place.
